Xcchess is a simple X client for chinese chess. It allows two players play
the game over internet. For detail of usage please refer to the man page
xcchess(6).
This program makes no attempt to play the game by itself, it only serves as
a tool to bring two players together.
This is the initial release of xcchess. It has been tested on Sun
Sparcstaions and SGI Iris workstations. I believe it will also work fine on
any other UNIX systems supporting BSD sockets. Please inform me of any
bugs or any incompatibility with other systems.
I would like to hear your suggestions about this program, new features more
functionalities, better appearance etc. The source codes are also
available, feel free to copy, modify or distribute, but not to sell it for
profit. If you have made any improvement to this program, I would like to
hear it from you. As there exists a internet chinese chess server, I would
be very interested if someone could transform this program into a client to
the server, I would be happy to offer my help. Of course, I can do the job
myself, if someone send my a copy of the specifications of that server.
