OVERVIEW
pt is a little program that performs simple operations on text files, such
as format translation between dos, un*x and mac, tab to space and space to
tab conversion, indentation and more.
INSTALLATION
To install pt you have to do the following:
1 - Unpack the tgz archive:
If you have already made that, skip to point 2.
Enter:
tar xzvf pt-0.6.tgz
This will create a directory named pt-0.6 with the souce of the program.
You can edit Makefile to change CFLAGS and installation directory.
2 - Compile the program:
To do that just type:
make gcc
if you have gcc installed,
make cc
otherwise.
3 - Install the package onto your system:
just type:
make install
you must be root to be able to do that succesfully.
4 - Type 'pt' to see what this can do, or type 'man pt' to see manpages for
more information.
5 - If you don't want to use pt anymore, type
make uninstall
to remove it from your system.
