texi2html - a Texinfo to HTML Translator

What is it?

texi2html is a Perl script that converts GNU's Texinfo files to HTML.

The program takes Texinfo files (and not info ones) and produces a set of
HTML files. The quality of the output is close to the printed output and is
much better than an info->HTML gateway.

You can consult the man page for more details.

How good is it?

The program understands most Texinfo version 2 commands and runs without
problem on big Texinfo files like the GNU Emacs 19 manual.

You can have a look at the result here and compare it to an info gateway
there.

This program has also been used to convert to HTML:

   * GNU "info" manuals (Cambridge)
   * A Collection of User Guides for Popular Software Packages (CSUWEB)
   * On-Line GNU Documentation
   * GNU Manuals (DJ Delorie)

A patched version of this program (made by Jörg Heitkötter) has been used
for:

   * "EFF's (Extended) Guide to the Internet" (was "The Big Dummy's Guide to
     the Internet")
   * "The Hacker Crackdown"
   * "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"
   * "The Farce of Physics"

Where can I get it?

You can view the script, see the latest changes and get the shar file from
this page.

This program is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
