PROGRAM
bricons (version 3.0 using Motif widget set version 1.1)
PLEASE NOTE
This version of the bricons program can display colour icons or
pixmaps. However it needs version 3.2 of the xpm libraries written
by Arnaud Le Hors. This can be obtained by anonymous ftp to:
export.lcs.mit.edu. The source code is found in /contrib/xpm directory.
DESCRIPTION
The bricons program allows the user to start up applications
from a configured command panel on a workstation display
running X. The bricons interface can consist of up to twenty
buttons which can display some text, icon or colour pixmap.
Each button is used to execute a shell command using the Bourne
shell. Each button can be configured to display a single spring
loaded popup menu with up to ten more buttons.
COMPILATION
Assuming a good X installation at your site, simply:
xmkmf ; make
Otherwise use the Makefile.std provided.
CONFIGURATION
Once the bricons program has been successfully compiled. Add the
following environment variable:
setenv XBMLANGPATH `pwd`/bitmaps/%B
It can then be executed and should display some example buttons
one of which is a sub menu.
The bricons program looks for a .briconsrc configuration file in
the current directory.
